Responsibilities

  • You will lead SEO strategy and execution, from keyword research and topical and intent analysis to content mapping and optimization to provide the best possible search experience for users.
  • You’ll also identify opportunities for page-to-page links, offer suggestions for where to create a navigation moment, and suggest how to weave in copy to accomplish these goals.
  • Streamline the SEO writing process by creating simple guidelines that work within the parameters of our website. For example: how many keywords vs. key phrases, how to best use H1 headings, etc.
  • Support SEM including PPC/Google Ads, and Retargeting campaigns, and strike a balance between organic and paid strategy. Leverage paid ad learnings to refine organic strategy and vice-versa.
  • Perform technical SEO by: Working closely with the Traffic Acquisition Manager and our website agency to identify and optimize/fix technical SEO; working with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and WordPress software; diagnosing technical SEO issues related to pagination, crawl errors, server errors, canonicalization, duplicate content, robots.txt, etc.; evaluating site architecture, URL structure, subdirectories, internationalization; and developing/implementing digital marketing strategies.
  • Test your optimization assumptions instead of relying on gut instinct. You’ll define testing plans across campaigns, suggest landing page/user funnel optimization, and experiment with A/B and multivariate website testing.
  • Tap into analytical skills by diving into the numbers; developing keyword maps and keyword topical clustering; and building strategies to improve traffic and rankings for critical keywords. Other responsibilities include: Setting up ranking/organic growth and budget goals and reporting on progress regularly; setting up goals in Google Analytics, conducting quantitative and qualitative behavioral analysis of the traffic; and diving deep into the traffic sources/channels and audience demographics to regularly learn, unlearn and optimize.
  • Leverage strong English writing skills to edit existing content to maximize SEO impact without impacting brand voice. You might need to support on-page optimization (providing content optimization suggestions), execute internal links, and choose relevant anchor texts.
  • Stay ahead of digital marketing trends by constantly seeking training, certifications, webinars, and other opportunities to sharpen your SEO/SEM proficiency.
  • Lead projects and roadmaps to support the Marketing Ops Director in building strategic SEO roadmaps and project plans.
